And now Govinda sings!!!

Shamir Tandon who made waves by making Sanjay Dutt, Bret Lee and
Urmila sing has now got Govinda to croon for him as well.
Well, you could say Govinda is no stranger to singing.
1999 saw the actor release his own album in which he had sung all
the nine songs. That was a long time ago.
Popcorn Entertainment Limited's forthcoming film
'Loot' will have the actor sing the song 'jakhon raakhe saayin maar
saake na koi'. Music director Shamir Tandon reportedly is very happy
and impressed by Govinda's musical talent and fondness for melody.
The music director is quite confident that this song, an ode to the
almighty, will go on to become a chart buster.
With his hat trick of hits in 'Page 3', 'Corporate'
and 'Traffic Signal' (director Madhur Bhandarkar's trilogy), Shamir
Tandon has proved to one and all his ability and mastery in the world
of film music and one can expect the same intensity with 'Loot' as
well. The song is slated to be picturized soon and we can see Govinda
lip sync to his own voice for a change.
Govinda had made an impressive comeback with last
year's 'Partner' into the realm of top actors of Bollywood and 'Loot'
might just keep the magic going for this actor who wows audiences
with his 'comedy skills'.
Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy ROCK ON To Dizzy Heights
It was a magnificent live performance to cherish.
Infinity Mall, Andheri danced to the beats of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy
as the talented trio put on a wonderful performance to mark the music
launch of their forthcoming film 'Rock On' last night.
The event also marked the debut of Farhan Akhtar
on stage. Of the nine songs in the album, Farhan Akhtar has sung
five.
The director of the film Abhishek Kapoor is pretty
ecstatic with things and says, "Everyday of recording the music was
an exploration into something fresh, radical and original. Our music
directors Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy took to the script like fish to
water and gave it a powerhouse soundtrack straight from the heart.
Working with Javed Saab was a complete revelation. He has a unique
way with words - measuring them for their texture and fragrance.
All in all, I had a blast making the film and am sure it'll have
the same effect on you. Rock On!"
The producer of the film Ritesh Sidhwani also shares
the joy. "Rock On will be a cult film. The experience of creating music
for this film has been fascinating and exhilarating...and when you
have a team like Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy and Javed saab, we really didn't
have too worry much. We've worked with them earlier and so the process
of creating music was all the more fun".
"Rock On is a youth oriented film, so the music
needed a distinct sound, keeping in mind contemporary appeal along
with melodious tracks, which these music maestros have
woven together effortlessly."
'Rock On' is a refreshing tale of four friends who
have music in their souls and thirst to put together a band. But
events in their lives are not so refreshing and are forced to abandon
their desire. But then 'time the weary traveler' metes out justice
by bringing them together with the stuff that dreams are made of.
Apart from Farhan Akhtar, the film also features
Prachi Desai, Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli, Shahana Goswami and Luke
Kenny.
Since the film needs that much of authenticity,
the actors who play the musicians were actually trained by professionals
to bring out the 'believable' factor. Purab Kohli trained with Lindsay
D'Mello on drums, Arjun Rampal trained with Chandresh from the band
'Dream out Loud', Luke Kenny worked with Loy and Farhan trained with
Shankar for vocals and Ehsaan for rhythm guitar.
Cinematography for the film is by Jason West, production
design by Shashank Tere and costumes by Niharika Khan. The film is
produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the banner of
Excel Entertainment and presented with Big Pictures. The film will
hit movie theaters on the 29th of August worldwide.
Rock On's album is by BIG MUSIC and was unveiled
last night by Javed Akhtar and along with Big Music representative
Kulmeet Makkar.
Big B in 'Marmayogi'?

It has been confirmed that ‘Marmayogi’ will have veteran
Bollywood actress Hemamalini playing a prominent role. But the biggest
surprise that could lead to tremendous anticipation is that Amitabh
Bachchan might be part of the project too. Kamal Haasan, it seems
is trying to rope in the legendary actor for an interesting role.
According to sources, Kamal Haasan has recently
expressed this desire saying ''We are working on ‘Marmayogi’ which
will be on a grand scale and Amitabh Bachchan would be perfect for
a role in the film”.
It can be recalled that plans were on to rope in
the Big B for the Rajini starrer 'Sivaji'. However he declined the
offer.
It would be interesting to see if the Shahensha
of Hindi films is fascinated by 'Marmayogi'. Sure would be great
if he is. If that happens, it will be the first time Amitab would
be part of a Tamil film.
